SystemsX is the largest ever public research initiative in Switzerland and focuses specifically on a broad topical area of basic research in Systems Biology. The initiative advances systems biology in Switzerland with the claim of belonging to the best in the world in this area of research. The SystemsX.ch initiative was launched to promote systems biology research, and since 2007 it has supported around 250 interdisciplinary research projects at the interface between biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, medicine, engineering and computer science.

The new SystemsX film includes several chapters - one of them entitled external page"The Secrets of Vision" starring Michele Fiscella (Hierlemann Group). This chapter describes and explains Michele Fiscella's interdisciplinary doctoral work on the electrophysiology of the retina.

Furthermore, the film also includes a chapter with Weijia Wang (Schroeder Group) - entitled external page"Communicating with Stem Cells". The biologist Weijia Wang examines how stem cells communicate and transform into exactly the cells that the body needs.
