Investing into the future of the D-BSSE
The governments of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Land have jointly approved the investment of 10 million francs to D-BSSE aimed at supporting the department and enhancing the cooperation of D-BSSE and the University of Basel.
Both physical and research infrastructure will be positively impacted. By allowing the department to rent and renovate laboratory space in the Rosenthal campus, the funds will facilitate the department’s expansion from 17 professors to 20 professors while also addressing an acute space need for current professors.
At the same time, the investment will bolster our research program through the establishment of funds for collaborative research with the University of Basel and the University hospitals in the area of personalised medicine, a strategic focus of D-BSSE and the University. These funds will catalyze new multi-faceted collaborations between D-BSSE and the University of Basel and hospitals under the regional research platform 'Personalised Health Platform Basel’.
