Adrian Bunzel is a group leader at ETH Zürich, where he combines computational design and directed evolution to create novel enzymes. His group aims to develop sustainable enzymes for solar-driven biocatalysis and energy production, enhance our understanding of the molecular origins of catalytic power, and expand our abilities to engineer novel enzymes.
Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Bunzel obtained his M.Sc. from the University of Cologne in 2013 and earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from ETH Zurich with a dissertation under the supervision of Prof. D. Hilvert in 2018. Following his postdoctoral work with Prof. A. J. Mulholland and Prof. J. L. R. Anderson at the University of Bristol, he started his independent group at the Department of Biosystem Science and Engineering at ETH Zurich in 2022.
