Periklis Pantazis is an Assistant Professor of Biosystems Analysis (tenure track) at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) Zurich, Basel, Switzerland, since November 2011.
Previously, he studied Biochemistry until 2001 at the Leibniz University of Hanover, Germany. He then pursued until 2005 a Ph.D. degree in biology and bioengineering in the group of Marcos González-Gaitán at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden, Germany.
He then joined in 2006 the laboratory of Scott Fraser at the Biological Imaging Center at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, USA.
Currently, his Laboratory of Nano Bio Imaging develops cutting-edge imaging technologies, assays, and reagents for sophisticated quantitative imaging analyses to mechanistically dissect development, disease progression, and tissue regeneration in vivo in the model organisms mice and zebrafish.
