Dr. Stephanie Kiyomi Aoki

Stephanie received her PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara for her studies on the identification and characterization of contact-dependent growth inhibition in Escherichia coli. She is currently a researcher in the Khammash group where she continues to work on E. coli and is focusing on the rational design and development of in vivo synthetic gene circuits as well as other projects including the study of pap phase variation, bioprocess optimization, and spatial organization of microbial populations.
