Research at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering
Research at the D-BSSE covers many topics, all of which are biologically relevant. The diversity of our professors enables the research groups to study biological questions from different perspectives. This in turn means that the department entertains a wide range of research thrusts and approaches. There is as much experimental work in engineering and wet laboratories in this department as there is theoretical work done exclusively on computers. The integration of experiments, theory, and development of novel systems is what sets the D-BSSE apart from other departments and makes it such an attractive research environment.
