Tomonori Katsuyama is a postdoctoral fellow and working in Dr. Renato Paro’s lab since May 2006. He was born in 1976 in Gumma, Japan. He studied genetics and developmental biology in Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Tohoku University (at Dr. Shoichiro Kurata’s group, 1999 - 2006), and he got his doctorate in September 2005. Since he begun to study with flies, he has been intrigued how the organ identity is systematically programed and maintained during development. He is also interested what makes stem cells in pluripotent state and what gives the plasticity to fate determined cells. He is now studying on the role of PcG/trxG in regenerating and transdetermining imaginal disc cells in Drosophila.
