The Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering offers motivated candidates the opportunity for doctoral studies, the most important scientific education at ETH. More about the research within the different groups is published here.

Information concerning application and the form for registration at ETH Zurich can be found here.

Admission

For admission at ETH without entry exam, it is necessary to hold an ETH Masters or an equivalent degree from another university. Further information and the statutes can be found at the Doctoral Administration Office of ETH Zurich.

Detailed Regulations on Doctoral Studies at D-BSSE

The regulations were approved by the rector on September 1, 2009.

A new set of regulations went into effect for all PhDs which start their studies at D-BSSE on or after 17.05.2011.

Doctoral committee

The doctoral committee is responsible for applications concerning qualifying exams, the approval of research plans and the approval of Co-supervisors.

Members are Prof. Daniel Müller, Prof. Renato Paro and Prof. Jörg Stelling.
