Project and research interests

Within the Synthetic Biology group I am working on the integration of chemical catalysts into an appropriately engineered protein environment and thereby the creation of novel industrially relevant enzymes with tailor-made functions. Therefore I exploit the Streptavidin-Biotin-Interaction as well as a broad range of innovative techniques in genetic engineering and high throughput screening.
Furthermore I am interested in the development of new techniques in mutant library generation as well as the systematic implementation of non-natural amino acids into proteins.
