Master thesis in synthetic biology: Design of experiment for dynamic metabolism models

Project

Within the Synthetic Biology group I'm responsible for the mathematical modeling and simulation of enzymatic networks converting metabolites. Therefore it is necessary to calibrate models, this is the adjustment or estimation of the parameters in that way that simulation and experiments are consistent. But not every type of experiment being performed allows a unique parameter estimation and so my current work targets the Design of Experiment. In the further a correctly parameterized model will serve for prediction and optimization of metabolic conversions to improve yield over time which will be implemented by my colleagues.
