Project
The main focus of my work in the bioprocess laboratory lies on enzyme engineering. I’m working on sugar converting enzymes that are planned to be employed in a continuous process, coupling reaction and separation by SMB in one single system. In order to make such an integrated process an economically meaningful solution, a highly stable and efficient enzyme is needed. Therefore, my task is to improve the stability and the activity of the enzymes under investigation and to make them ready for integration.
