Separations play an integral part of any biotechnological process. This course aims at enabling students from various backgrounds (process engineering, biotechnology) to select and design suitable separation processes for typical biotechnological products such as monoclonal antibodies, antibiotics, and fine chemicals. The course will cover:
Cell desintegration - centrifugation - membrane separarations - extractions - adsorption - chromatography - economics
Supporting material: The lecture slides will be provided as download on the homepage prior to the lecture (one day at the latest)
